Pens have a common history. The idea of how they work originated from the use of the feather one that was used ages ago, and which would suck in ink, and then one would write down using the split end of the feather stick. The modern writing tools work relatively the same way, probably the major difference is the cover material they are made of. Today, there are a wide range of the same from which you can choose. They have different names like fountain, felt, ballpoint, reed just to mention a few. some are named according to the material while others are according to the nib points that they have.
The Parker pens are named after their inventor, George Parker who founded the John Holland Gol Pen Company in 1889. He began by making the fountains type for which he got a patent in the same year. Five years later, the company made the Lucky curve brand that became so widely used up to the Second World War. With time they invented new concepts and their market expanded beyond the borders to Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Denmark, France and the UK.
One thing that makes the Parker pens so outstanding is the fact that they sell at a very fair price. They also come in good quality. Some of the brands that are common in the category of Parker type include Jointless(1899), Jack Knife(1909), Duofold(1921), Vacumatic(1932), Jotter(1954) and the last model to be introduced was the Parker 100 which was launched in 2004.
